Van Oorschot). The book, written in the 1940s, was quite a lot of work to translate, but is definitely worth a read. For anyone interested in the connection between the two \"phenomena\"; Williams discusses Great-Britain in particular, but rightly claims that a lot of specifics are just as applicable to France... or the Netherlands.
