A short update with a few fun facts about work I've translated:
First of all: congratulations Yael van der Wouden! Het debut novel The Safekeeptranslated by me and Roos van de Wardt as De bewaring, was nominated for the Booker Prize 2024!
The poem 'Where They Burn Books' by Theophilus Kwek was recently read and interpreted by Ellen Deckwitz on her podcast Poëzie Vandaag (Poetry Today). I translated this poem, along with nine other poems by Kwek, for Poetry International Festival 2023. Listen to the episode here.
Lastly, Sofie de Braekeleer posted a positive review of Vrij stroomt de rivier (by Eleanor Shearer) on Hebban. She explicitly mentioned the translation and the translator's note I wrote to expand on certain translation choices.
