Last week, my first-ever translation was published: Capitalism and Slavery by Eric Williams (publ. Van Oorschot). The book, written in the 1940s, was quite a lot of work to translate, but is definitely worth a read. For anyone interested in the connection between the two "phenomena"; Williams discusses Great-Britain in particular, but rightly claims that a lot of specifics are just as applicable to France... or the Netherlands. His writing is accessible, objective and at times contains a hint of sarcasm, making this important text just a bit easier to read!
