Officially, this translation was to be published today, but it's been in stores for about a week already: Yael van der Wouden's much anticipated debut The Safekeep! Written in English by the author, and translated into Dutch by me and Roos van de Wardt. The novel was published by Chaos, a Das Mag imprint.
It's difficult to describe this book without spoiling the whole story, but some things you can expect from it: The Netherlands' post-war period, mysterious disappearances, a (hate-)love relationship between two women, a beautiful house in the Overijssel countryside, and an enormous twist at the end...
